Southern Flounder
Paralichthys lethostigma
The largest flounder species found in the South Atlantic and Gulf coast bays and estuaries. Southern Flounder are ambush predators that lie camouflaged on sandy or muddy bottom. They are excellent table fare and popular targets for gigging at night.
